Q: What are the pros and cons of a Dodge Challenger?
I want the basic model of the Challenger without many extras. I saw the msrp value of a new one was under 23k. Will it last 300,000 miles if it is driven often, in a garage, and taken care of? Will I need out big bucks in for repairs? Is it good on gas?

A: Chevy 199 has got to get off his high horse, My 99 ram 3500 turbo Diesel has 280,000 miles on it now, I also have a 01 quad cab 318 with 220,000 miles on it and a 97 dakota R/T race truck with 80,000 on it and it has only slowed .2 tenths of a second since I bought it and they all have the original heads, and transmissions in them with regular service it will last as long as you need it to, but you will get out of it what you put in. so use factory parts when needed..

Q: If i put a chip in a 2008 Dodge Challenger would it get better gas milage?
I had a 2008 Shelby cobra mustang and we put a chip in it and it ended up getting better gas millage.
But i cant figure out if it would do the same to a challenger.

A: it depends how you drive the more power a eng has the less it has to work and that = better fuel mileage but they def did not make that car to commute so don’t plan on getting enough of an improvement for the chip to pay for its self

Q: Im Thinking About Buying a Dodge Challenger?
I want to get a R/T dodge challenger, is there any problems with the car i should consider? How is the car overall? is it a good buy?

A: I’ve put 13000 miles on my SE since 26 Feb and I still love the car. I havn’t had a single issue with it. I havn’t really heard of any recurring problems with it on any forums either.

Pros:
Eye catching design has everyone saying “Wow, nice car” (very nice perk that doesn’t get old)
Fun to drive no matter what trim
Comfortable for both short and long drives
Gas mileage is competitive with similar cars (about 350 miles/tank)
Good stock sound system
Huge trunk
Back seat actually fit regular people fairly comfortably (assuming your front seats aren’t all the way back)
60/40 rear folding seat comes in handy
Good handling for its size
Good exterior color selection for SRT8 and R/T trims (SE isn’t bad, just not an extensive selection)

Cons:
Very large car, can be cumbersome to maneuver in tight spots
Interior design is rather plain and lacks color
Back seat is a pain to get into (only through passenger side unless u wanna mess with a slow power drivers seat)
Poor rear visibility
Thick rear pillars impairs rear quarter vision, makes backing up difficult
Spare tire not standard and only an option on SE (possibly also R/T, have heard rumors)

Hope that helps

Q: where can i buy a 69-71 dodge challenger cheap?
i want a 69-71 dodge challenger that is complete and doesnt have that much rust for under 10,000 if you know a challenger like this please tell me.

A: Ryan… considering the Dodge Challenger which is an E-Body Mopar you are not going to find any in a

1969 Model year because they were produced starting for the 1970 Model year…. Although they can have a manufacture date of say 9/69, 10/69, 11/69 od 12/69… the car in question is still a 1970 and up model

so you would be looking at the 1970 and 1971 model years only???

good luck considering Challengers were only made from 1970-1974 … also the 70/71’s are the most sought after too
lots of competition for not rusting ones too…

that said check Hemmings motor news for sale ads

and also the various chapeters of the Mopars Unlimited under cars for sale

subscribe to Mopars Collectors Guide or get they off local news stand…

they have a special Challengers classified area

Be willing to travel some for that nice Challenger too

good luck and be patient you may just get one.. also you might consider finding the lesser desirable slant six equipped ones (yep some came with a 6 cylinder bet a lot of you here didn’t know that) because many enthusiasts only want V8 ones… hence one with this engine would also be less $$$

Q: Would changing the engine on a 1970 dodge challenger allow for use of unleaded gas?
If I do change the engine, does that allow for better gas mileage and use of unleaded gas? I’m not too big of a car guy, but I found a perfectly priced classic challenger for my first car and I just want some help.

A: yes if you go to a newer model engine it does allow you to use the unleaded fuel in it ,if it has the original engine you can also buy an additive to run it that makes up for the lack of the lead that used to be in the fuel,i own a 71 plymouth duster with a 340 in it and i run pump gas through it,i also use an additive in it most of the time, glad you found a challenger worth fixing, i been looking for several months now and haven’t found one i though was worth restoring yet, good luck.

Q: Has the new 2008 dodge challenger been released?
I have seen one on the streets, but didn’t if has been released, or if maybe they special ordered it. Are you able to just g to a regular dodge dealer and purchase one yet?

A: Yes, they are out on the streets. In fact I saw a truck load of them the other day. I did all I could to not hijack the truck. Just kidding.

Q: where can I find a license plate mounting kit for the front of a new dodge challenger?
The front end has a v shape to it. We saw another challenger that had a frame mounting kit that fit the v perfectly but we dont know where to get one.

In our state its illegal to leave the plate in the dash, it has to be on the front and rear bumpers.
We bought the car from a few hundred miles away. Because of that, the DMV sent the license plates directly to us and we had to install the rear ourselves.

A: Found one for relatively cheap and it’s OEM. http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/iwwida.pvx?;item?item_no=DCP-68027815AA%201&comp=LRS

Q: When will the new Dodge Challenger be available for sale to the public?
I’m waiting on the new Camaro, and I like the Mustang GTs, but the Challenger is definetely an option…..hehe

A: My husband is standing on his head waiting for this also. The new challenger has made it to production, with the first “2008″ models rolling into the showrooms in the fall of 2007. 425 hp. rear wheel drive 6speed will be available in the infamous R/T model. This time there be no plum crazy color in the line-up.

Q: where can i find parts for my 1971 dodge challenger .. i need a front grill and bumper?
i need the hole front bumper and grill to the challenger. and i cant find it anywhere. can you help?

A: paddocks,ebay,yearone,swap meets, hemmings

Q: How can i make my 2010 Dodge Challenger SE faster?
i have a 2010 challenger se and want to make it faster and give it a nicer sound. what can i do that isnt too expensive but will do that? thanks.

A: Actually–it will cost you to do all of that!! But what is the point?? You can change the exhaust system–and maybe reprogram the computer–but I bet its 2000 to do it.

Q: Does Dodge Challenger 2008 have right hand drive?
I love the Dodge Challenger 2008, it a fucking nice car. But I live in Thailand and here is right hand side drive. So I was wondering, does the new Challenger have right hand drive? Will they make if you order for one? or not at all? I so wanna buy it if they can make right hand drive.

A: if they make one to sell their it will have to be right hand drive, you can contact the Chrysler corporation and find out for sure,i have never seen any mention of this on any of their web sites though, good luck here’s one of their sites that might help you some.http://www.dodge.com/en/

Q: Could 4 adults and a car seat fit comfortably in a dodge challenger?
we were offered a challenger as a rental car for vacation & I am concerned whether 2 tall adults & a car seat could fit comfortably in the back seat.

A: Yes, the back seat of the Challenger is very large and roomy.

Q: How big is the New Dodge Challenger?
I am a pretty big guy (6′4 280 lbs) and im interested in getting the new Challenger, but there is none in the podunk town i live in. Would it be at least a little comfortable fit?

A: here is a link check it out

Q: Does the 70 dodge challenger have a window frame?
After thinking about Deathproof, i wondered if the challenger really had a frame around the window (if the window is down, you still see the shape). at first i didnt think much of it, but i realized most muscle cars didnt and the doors ive seen are frameless.

A: I own a 1971 Challenger and am caretaker for my two daughter’s 1970 Challenger R/T’s (formerly mine) and they “do not” have a window frame around the door windows, the rear quarter window does have a chrome metal guide with a felt covered recess for the rear edge of the front window to rest in. I read and was told that 1970 Challenger “coupes”, of which I’ve never seen one, not saying they were never made, I’ve just never seen one, had “fixed” quarter windows with the same appearance.

Q: Is the Dodge Challenger SE a good car?
Is the Dodge Challenger SE a good car for someone who can’t afford the higher end models?

A: We ordered an SRT8

I think the SE would be fine, but don’t expect to burn off anyone at the lights – it is a heavy car for such a small motor
