Q: Is 133 thousand miles decent for a used 1996 Honda Accord?
I need to buy a car soon and I was considering either a used Toyota Corolla or a used Honda Accord. The Toyota Corolla is a 1996 with 126 thousand miles for 2900 (though of course I’d haggle) and the Honda Accord is a 1996 with 133 thousand miles for 2000 (again, I’d haggle). Is the Honda Accord decent sounding (based on the little info given), or the Corolla? Of course, I have to check them both out myself, but are there any tips or suggestions or opinions anyone can offer? Thanks!

A: Go for the corolla. Better MPG, reliable, (gas pedal works lol). They outlast the Honda accord if well maintained. (Like you can put 250k miles if you maintain it). 126k miles is breaking it in. I had a 1994 corolla and bought it with 110k miles, the car’s engine literally died at 260k miles and the transmission outlasted the engine!! This one time, I had no coolant and drove that sucker for 50 miles and it still didnt overheat.

Q: What should i pay for a used Honda CRF 70?
What should i pay for for a used honda crf 70 year 2004 and up? Thanks.
What should i pay for for a used honda crf 70 year 2004 and up? Thanks. I found one for 600 should i buy it?

A: the first poster was right you should go to kelley blue book to find out,but i looked for you and the retail price for a 2004 honda crf 70 is $835.

Q: Where can I get more money selling my used Honda Civic – In San Francisco area or in Dallas?
Is there a website that gives an estimate for used cars across states?
I’m thinking that I might get more money here in San Francisco area, but really want to know what the difference is because if it’s not significant then I prefer to sell it in Dallas.

A: It’s not worth the hassle. The only reason I can think of a car getting bought for more in another state would be if someone was trying to sell a non smogged car in CA versus selling the same car in NJ or NY. It would sell for much more outside of CA.

HTH

Q: I much should I look to pay for a 2009 used Honda civic EX?
I’m looking to buy a new car this spring once I graduate college, and I want a 2009 or 2010 Honda Civic Ex (used). How much should I expect to pay for one with 20,000 miles that is reasonable? My assumption would be around $18,000-$18,500.

A: Ya 18,000 or 18,500 is what some 08 were running when I recently bought my civic ex. I just bought an 08 ex for 15,300 last month the sticker price was 18,100 but I talked them down cause dealers always try and get you. When looking at honda dealers and your getting ready to go through the paperwork/ contract do not let them talk you into buying Gap coverage or the extended warranty. I have Mercury insurance and got an extended warranty for 100,000 miles or 6 years for like $300.00 bucks and the dealer was trying to sell it to me for 1,500.00 and they also try and tack on the Gap coverage for another 1.400.00 that coverage is in case of a total loss they will pay out the remainder of the loan if your upside down on it. It too can be purchased for way less from your insurance company just call and ask them. They will also add on another 1,000 to 1,300 to activate the KARR alarm I did it just cause my last honda was stolen and I don’t need to deal with that crap again its an expensive ass alarm but im my eyes worth it just so im not always paranoid someone will steal my car or break in Good luck and bring someone who is a good negotiater like your hubby or dad my boyfriend was my negotiater lol

Q: Why are there 3 times less used Toyota’s for sale vs Honda?
I’ve been looking through various media and I find 2 or 3 times more used Honda’s for sale than Toyota. Now assuming Honda sold as many cars as Toyota does (which they don’t)… why do so many people want to sell their Honda?

A: Dont make generalizations based on your local newspaper. I lived in Boulder Colorado and the car of choice there was a Saab. Now I might see one or two every year. In Montreal VW Jettas make up at least 50% of cars on the road. In Texas Ford trucks are #1, so my point is locally the market can be skewed toward any brand.
Just wanted to add that the demand for used Toyota’s is fairly high, many of them don’t make it to the open market. We passed ours to a family member, the neighbors have sold two of their used Camrys to other neighbors etc.

Q: Im trying to buy a used honda, but the ones i see in my price range have very high mileage on it, is this bad?
I am a girl obviously and i am also a sophmore in college, but i do not know anything about cars. Can someone provide some insight on this for me?

A: Hondas holdup well even with high mileage if properly maintained. Toyotas and Nissans as well.

Q: anyone wants to buy a new or used honda?
I am a Honda salesman @ Mcgrath Honda in St. Charles ,il We have some great cars! If you send customers who buy, you will earn $50 !

A: whoo advertising

Q: Is there a wen site to sell used Honda’s?
I’m trying to sell my 2002 Honda Shadow Sabre. I have it on cycletrader and on craigslist. Are there any other sites I could try?

A: go for ebay. this is winter time so it might be a little slow and you might not get what you want, but its all around got the most buyers. I sell and buy on there always. although there listing fees for vehicles are like $30.00 and a final value fee of about $40 is you sell it. good luck

Q: I am going to buy a used honda civic hybrid? what should I worry about?
is there anything i need to check since its a hybrid?
battery?
any advice would work?

A: Check if it’s still under warranty so you don’t have to pay so much for repairs when the time comes. If it doesn’t have one of the Big 3 stamped on it, you’ll be fine. At least you would know up front if your car brand is going to beg for help from the government.

Q: Im buying a used honda…How many miles is too many to consider buying?

A: I would worry more about what I was going to use the car for and the condition the car was in, the price (looking at the year) more than the millage.

Q: buying a used Honda which has been financed?
Let me say, I found this site very useful. I am buying used Honda civic 2002 with 84K Kilom on it, in good condition, I drove it. It is a private deal and the seller has financed it. I am wondering if both parties agreed on final price how would the purchase/transfer goes. The seller is expecting when paid, then she will pay the bank and clear the debit. Where I am confused If I pay first how would I claim the ownership because I will be totally dependent and waiting when she is done paying and clearing the title. Am i missing something here? and what would you recommend. Thanks

A: The seller must pay the car off themselves first before you buy it, or you can easily get screwed in this deal.

Even if you wrote up a contract with the seller, you would still have to goto court, etc and your money will be gone till a verdict is reached, and you may never get anything if he claims bankruptcy.

I would never suggest anyone buys a vehicle with no title immediately available.. And a bill of sale is a joke. It never passes as a real title.

Q: If you write a check on a bank to purchase a used Honda Civic, you are using money primarily as?
-a medium of exchange.
-a store of value.
-a unit of account.
-an economic investment.

A: A medium of exchange. You exchange the money for the auto, presumably each represents equal value.

A savings account or a gold bar might be a store of value.
An entry in a ledger might be a unit of account.
A stock purchase that you expect to increase in value would be an economic investment.

Q: How much can I sell my used Honda Accord wheels for?
I am trying to sell my original rims from my 2003 Accord EX V6. They’re 17″ X 7″. They have a little curb rash and one has a scratch in the powder coat.

here’s what they look like.

Is $300 too little or too much?

A: you can ask 300 but there only worth what someones will to pay

Q: Any idea how much adding A/C to a used Honda Civic would cost?
I just bought a ‘99 Honda Civic with no A/C. I think it might be worth it to add it, the car has low mileage and is in great shape for resale later. But I have no idea what is involved and how much it might cost. I’d like to have a general idea before I talk to the dealer or shop.

A: $800

Q: Questions about my used honda civic 2006?
I’ve purchased a used civic 2006 and it makes a loud whirling noise or I guess spinning noise. What could this be?? I’ve been looking around on the internet and noticed that the civic 06 had a recall on a bearing??? Would this recall apply to me if the previous owner did not get it taken care of?

A: If you are hearing a grinding noise, the recall would most likely apply to you.
You will still (probably) be able to get the bearing replaced at your dealer for free.
If you can’t, I suggest new wheel bearings from http://mibearings.com
Good Luck!
