Q: can you turn a subaru impreza hatch into the coupe or sedan ?
can you turn a subaru impreza hatch into the coupe or sedan?
i want to turn my 1996 subu into a sedan/coupe
if so how, and EP estimated price?
A: Start with $20,000 to do it, and go up from there.
Yeah, that’s a bad idea. You compromise structural integrity and add weight to a car that isn’t meant to have all that. You want a coupe, buy a coupe. You want a sedan, buy a sedan.
Q: would a normal subaru impreza sound the same as a subaru impreza wrx?
i am wondering because i was on the magnaflow website listening to the sound previews of the exhaust systems for subaru impreza wrx models, but there is no sound preview for a normal impreza. so i am wondering if a normal impreza would sound the same as a wrx?
A: yes, the unequal length headers give the rumble.
Q: Is it worth buying a 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX sedan with 124K miles on it?
I am looking to buy a used 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX. I have found one that is reasonably priced within the Kelly Blue Book suggestion, but it has 124K miles on it. Is it worth buying?
A: ^ uh, the WRX is a turbo, so don’t know what that persons talking about,
your question is hard to answer not knowing the price, and KBB can vary on location so say it cost 8k where you live, it could cost 7k where i live or the other way around
first thing first is get it checked out by a mechanic, preferably one who knows subarus well, all major cities have shops like these, don’t just go to some corner maintenance shop, go to one who knows these cars, it has a boxer engine and is turbo’d and has an intercooler, most shops don’t see these too often, not to say they arent good, but best to find specialists, to find a good local tuner who can help you, go to NASIOC.com, go to forums, then scroll down to NASIOC CHAPTERS and go to the one in your area, they will know a shop to go to and some might even know the car, most places will fully check the car for free or a minimal fee
124k is a bit, but depending on how its been driven, it might be fine, but price and condition of the car are the two MAIN factors, good luck
Q: Ideal engine for swapping into a 1999 Subaru Impreza?
what is the easiest engine to turbo and swap into a 1999 Subaru Impreza. Also I know some have issues with passing emissions, I need one that won’t fail.
A: Honestly i would just drop the wrx turbo in and see if there are other adjustments needed like transmission…i think it is the same.
Then if you really want more (have you driven a wrx???) just do intake, suspension, tires, etc.
PS TIRES…huge difference with awd…ok well at least in Forza
Q: Will an exhaust kit from a 1994 Subaru Impreza fit on a 1998 Subaru Legacy GT wagon with the same engine?
Im looking at buying a used exhaust kit from a guy that said its coming from his ‘94 impreza. It seems my ‘98 legacy gt wagon has the same engine, I’m wanting to know if these exhaust systems have the same mounts so that I can literally bolt it on. Any subaru experts know?
A: No, for several reasons. The most obvious one is that the cars are built on different platforms (chassis). The Legacy, be it sedan or wagon, is a bigger car than the Impreze (including WRX and STI).
Q: Should I sell a 2000 Accord and buy a Subaru Impreza WRX?
So I’ve been looking for a new car and thinking of selling my new car since graduating and a guy who works at a store next to me is selling his used 2007 Subaru impreza wrx. Has about about 20,000 miles on it and has a customized interior. He said the only problem was just the transmission, I forgot what exactly, but considering how these things are going for around 30,000, is this a good idea to buy? How much can the transmission take out of my wallet?
A: Quote -

Are you kidding me ? have you ANY Idea how much does it take to fix that ? Why don’t you take that car to a Reputed Mechanic of your own (Not his) and ask him how much it will cost to fix ? Is he willing to deduct that cost from the Sale price ? If not you decline.
Seriously, why on earth you want to sell a nice car like the accord for the Impreza ? Even if you do want to, make sure he does not Overprice you. Do your homework and find out Edmunds.com TMV price for that car.
Q: Which American version of the first generation (94-2001) Subaru Impreza is the best? Year and trim?
I was interested in looking for a first generation Subaru Impreza and I wanted to know which year and trim would be the best. Since I can’t drive manual, it has to be automatic.
A: 2000 2.5 rs period. Bulletproof and looks good in 2 door version. Comes available with a sunroof, if you like sunroofs. It is sturdier than the 94-96 model and a 2000 – 2001 would be in better condition anyway. Cable clutch is eliminated and most of the rubber won’t be rotted out like the 94-96’s. Interior is sportier than earlier models and everything is easier to work on (more space).

By the way, AM I ABLE TO HAVE ADJUSTMENTS ON THE REAR ???
A: If your car still under warranty, bring it back and have the dealership to adjust it for you. I think it still under the power train.
It looks awkward, I guessed when you drive it, you can feel the car is going sideway instead of straight.
The rear, you may need to take out the entire assembly and then adjust it. I don’t think you can adjust it with the OEM setting; unless you get the chamber kit.
Q: Could a 1997 Subaru Impreza handle a 1000w amp with subs?
Im thinking about getting a 1000w system for my 1997 subaru impreza but i was wondering if the car could handle it.
A: likely yes, no reason why not you may need a bigger alternator I recommend pintex alternators about 100.00 dollars
Q: Should I trade in my 97 subaru impreza rally sport for a 97 jeep cherokee sport?
Right now I have a 1997 Subaru Impreza Rally Sport edition and I kind of want to get an SUV. I miss my old Toyota 4Runner. Should I trade it in and get a 1997 Jeep Cherokee Sport or would that be a bad idea?
A: I wouldn’t. The Cherokee has not been as reliable as the Impreza. Another 4Runner would be a much wiser choice if you must part with the Subaru.
Q: do i need to remove the front axels to change a clutch on a subaru impreza wrx sti?
its a 2004 subaru impreza wrx sti.
A: No you don’t need to pull the axles to replace the clutch if you are pulling the engine to do it, but as a mechanic I can tell you it’s easier to pull the transmission ,in that case yes you need to remove the axles.
Q: where can i find a image of a subaru impreza with neons?
pictures of a subaru impreza with underglow.
A: You may want to try:

Q: Putting a turbo in a 1998 Subaru Impreza?
I want to install a turbo kit in my 1998 Subaru Impreza it’s manual 5spd. with 101k miles on the engine what are somethings I should do first to the engine before I install a turbo? What is the difficulty level of this project?
A: i don’t know much about impreza engines, but most of the time when adding a turbo onto a naturaly aspirated engine, you’d have to get better pistons, connecting rods and etc because sometimes stock parts aren’t built to handle a boost and they will malfunction prematurely. now some cars have really strong engines like the miata or supra, but impreza i have no clue. maybe check out a subaru impreza forum where people might’ve already did what your thinking about doing.
just go on google and type “impreza forum”
good luck.
Q: Whats the EXACT difference between a Subaru Impreza Turbo and a Subaru Impreza sport?
Is the Subaru Impreza sport EXACTLY the same as the turbo models minus the turbo??
A: There is no “Subaru Impreza sport.” There was an Impreza Sport Wagon (also called Casa Blanca), and there is the Impreza Outback Sport. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_Impreza I’m going to assume you mean the Outback Sport. It is pretty much a standard Impreza, with one very notable difference: it has a raised suspension affording about 2.5 inches more ground clearance.
Like its big brother, the Legacy-platform based Outback Wagon, this makes the Outback Sport more usable in the back country for LIGHT off roading. The car can handle heavily rutted dirt roads and even ford SMALL streams; but, lacking a low range for its transmission, it is not a Jeep and cannot assault rock fall. In the U.S., the car uses the 2.5 litre engine, standard.
The turbocharged versions of the Impreza, the WRX and STI, use a different 2.5 litre engine. You cannot just bolt a turbocharger onto most engines and expect vastly greater performance. Stronger pistons, connecting rods, etc. are necessary to keep the normally aspirated engines from burning themselves out with the pressures of a turbocharger.
Q: Should I swap the engine to make my 2008 Subaru Impreza 2.5i into a WRX or convert my stock engine to WRX?
2008 Subaru Impreza 2.5i (non-turbo)
Which will save me money?
If engine swap, (EJ25 turbo) where can I get one for cheap? All the websites don’t have prices.
If conversion, then can someone give me the deatails for 2.5i engine and WRX engine (2008) to know what parts to get?
Thanks!
A: do a engine swap, tiger japanese and password jdm will have it most likely. Just yahoo “jdm engines” and youll get a lot of sellers. look on ebay too
