Q: How many miles does your ford focus have and hows it running?
i just bought a 07 ford focus se at 74000 miles and I was just curious how many miles you had on yours and if there has been any problems?

A: I have a 02 with a 180000 miles on it still running strong. The 2005 and newer have a timing chain instead of the belt.

A: Don’t, airbags contain explosives. If it goes off when you are in front of it you may risk SERIOUS physical injury or DEATH. Take it to your Ford dealer and get it replaced by a professional trained in such matters.

It’s not worth the risk.

Q: How many miles are left when the low gas signal light goes on in a ford focus 2 door?
i was just wondering since my car doesnt tell you how many miles to the gallon are left…how many are left when the low gas light goes on in a ford focus?

A: well the ford falcon has 150km worth of fuel left in the tank when the light turns on. so id assume around the same on the focus.

Q: How to reprogram new Ford Focus MyKey?
I have a rental Ford Focus and I can’t go over 65 mph without the car beeping at me that it’s reached top speed and the speed limit on the interstate is 75! Please help me ASAP on how to reprogram the MyKey features.

A: I hope the rental company gave you more than one key.

If they gave you only one key.. and the one key is a programed “MyKey” you will not be able to change the settings. Period.

The settings can only be altered or disabled when the vehicle has been started with an “Administrator key”

MYKEY™ (IF EQUIPPED)
The MyKey™ feature allows you to program a restricted driving mode to
promote good driving habits. All but one of the keys programmed to the
vehicle can be activated as a MyKey™. The key will remain restricted
until MyKey™ is disabled. Any remaining keys are referred to as an
“administrator key” or admin key. The admin key can be used to create a
MyKey™, program optional MyKey™ settings, and disable the MyKey™
feature. When the MyKey™ feature is enabled the user can use system
check in the message center to see how many MyKeys™ and admin keys
are programmed to the vehicle, and how many total miles have been
driven with the MyKey™ active.

Programming MyKey™ optional settings
Turn the ignition on using an admin key. To program the optional
settings, use the message center buttons to do the following:
1. Press SETUP until RESET FOR MYKEY SETTINGS is displayed.
2. Press and release the RESET button to display MyKey™ setup menus.
The first menu shown is:
MYKEY MAX MPH <80 MPH> OFF
3. If you don’t want to change the maximum speed setting, press the
SETUP button to display the next menu. The remaining menus appear as
follows with the default settings shown:
MYKEY MPH TONES 45 55 65
MYKEY VOLUME LIMIT OFF
MYKEY ADVTRAC CTRL ON .

4. On any of the menus press RESET to highlight your choice with the
<…>.
5. Press SETUP to enter your choice. The next optional setting will be
displayed.
6. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 until you are done changing the optional
settings.
Disable MyKey™
To reset all MyKeys™ as admin keys do the following:
1. Turn the vehicle on using the admin key.
2. Press SETUP until PRESS RESET TO CLEAR MYKEY is displayed.
3. Press and release the RESET button. HOLD RESET TO CONFIRM
CLEAR is displayed.
4. Press and hold the RESET button for two seconds until ALL MYKEYS
CLEARED is displayed.

You could also disable the MyKey features alltogether, but that too would require an AdminKey

The rental companies would want the MYKey settings to remain in place so they can see how many miles were driven and also so that they can ensure safe driving practices in the vehicles that they own. But if the speed limit is over the setting.. then they really should have let you know that and/or reset the limit to accommodate your intended driving.

Q: Where could I find a high output alternator for a 2007 ford focus?
I have a 2007 Ford Focus 2.0L DOHC, and am having a very hard time finding a place that sells a high output alternator. Could anyone point me to a place that actually sells these things for this car? Thanks

A: try to see if one from another ford will bolt on that has a higher amp rating

A: Grab a sewing needle and stick it into the tiny nozzle and lightly move it in the direction you’d like it to spray :) !

I’ve always been happy with my Ford Focus due to it being very inexpensive, it has strong reliability (it never breaks down) and it is environmentally friendly. I now need a pickup truck. A: trucks will take up a lot of gas. anything else if you need a truck than go rent one.

Q: what might cause my 2003 ford focus lx to vibrate while only in park?
my 2003 ford focus vibrates at random times when its in drive gear only. i hear and feel it vibrate when im at red lights. It first used to only vibrate when i had my ac on and now it vibrates when ever even with the ac off.

A: It may be a problem with the clutch not retracting completely.

A: Vauxhall Astra, Fords are junk, from personal experiance, and the world seems to agree with me because in 2006 Ford sales dropped and they lost more money than ever

I am looking for a new car. I need something afordable, reliable, and good on gas as I am a college student.
Is the Ford Focus 2008 a good buy for me and why?
Or is there another car more fitting?

A: It’s not bad…kind of ugly though. I would look at the Saturn Astra…Mazda3..Chevy Cobalt…those are all pretty reasonable. If you want to spend more look at a Civic or Corolla.

Q: Ford Focus?
I’m thinking of buying a Ford Focus, does anyone know if they are good cars? I don’t want it to break down. It is a 2000 model and has 85,000 miles on it. Any advice?

A: My 2000 is at 81K mi. Getting it out of the shop tomorrow… had to replace the drive shaft bearings and the ignition core … grand total (including the tow) $816.35. Apparently it is the #1 recalled vehicle out.. with something like 15 recalls- but most of the critical ones are closed recalls- so unless the previous owner took it in, it will be like mine and need fixed at cost. The ignition core or lock core is a common problem (research it online if you’d like) but it has not been recalled to date because ford argues that it is not a “life threatening” problem- tell me that when it locked up w/o warning after turning it off on a road far from home at midnight.

Honestly, for the cost it is what you get- they aren’t bad cars- they have a lot of acceleration and spunk… however there are two bad blind spots on them (my friends who own one also agree) the first is the super high tailgate (especially if its the version with the spoiler) and the second is the placement of the bar separating the side windows- even checking mirrors and all, the blind spots have caused me more problems than the 15 passenger vans I drive for work.

Space is great- my friends never complain and the trunk is very handy.

Honestly I wouldn’t recommend it compared to other 2000 cars to a friend because I’ve lost faith in the ford corporation and their convient parts that fail but need replaced by licensed technitions.

but if you’re comparing with older cars- it can be a better option.

P.s. true city gas mileage is 20mpg. 100% highway will raise it to 30mpg at best…. no matter what type of gas, STP, clean oil or filters.

Anybody own a ford focus and love it?! I’m looking into buying a new vehicle and I havemy eyes on this 2000 Focus… Anyone have any pros/cons of this vehicle? Please help?!

A: I’ve worked in Ford dealerships for 15 years and own an 02 Focus, but if I were you, I’d stay away from 2000 & 01’s. Like someone else said, lots of recalls and problems. Ford ironed them out after 02. If its 02 or newer you’re ok.

I wonder if anyone with a FORD FOCUS 1.8 Zetec E engine has had a timing belt change and if so do they know what was actually renewed.

A: Usually it best practice to change timing belt .rollers and spring loaded belt tensioner .You dont say how many miles are on the clock its recomended belt is changed 75k miles. very expensive to repair engine if old belt breakes
