I want to get my timing belt replaced on my 2000 Honda Accord EX V6 Coupe. I am not going to do it myself. What is considered a fair price to have it professionally installed?

A: Possibly from 500 to 700. Dealers may charge more. But, you have to replace it before it fails, because if it breaks, you need an entire engine install (2000+ dollars).

I have a Honda Accord 2006 6-disc changer stock stereo w/o an aux input in the front. Does it have an aux input in the back? Or do I need to get a fm modulator for that? I appreciate any info you guys can give me on this. Thanks!

A: No there is no auxiliary plug in the back. You’ll need an FM modulator. Avoid FM broadcasters/transmitters. They have horrible sound quality.

Q: Have you added a rearview camera to your Honda Accord?
I have a 2008 Honda Accord Coup with the GPS package. I enquired about adding the rearview cam, but was told it only comes for the Sedan. There cannot be much difference between the two cars (besides two doors). Has anyone tried adding this to your coup?
Was it dealer supplied? Was it costly? Did they use the Sedan package on your coup? A few detail, please.

A: My dealer said that a rearview camera could be added to any car. I have no clue why your dealer would say otherwise. I would go shop around, go to another Honda dealer if there is one nearby and ask… or just call. If they say no, look into getting an aftermarket one. If you have any auto customization shops by you, stop in or call, I know they will be able to do it.

A: Front pads plus new rotors: $200 at Pep Boys or an independent shop (not a dealer’s price). However, if your front rotors require a special puller to remove, it could cost you more.

My niece just bought a Honda Accord 1996 and it needs a new clutch, My friend who works on cars said he would do it for $600 including parts. She has a friend who said he will do it for $150 parts included. I don’t trust her friend. So my question is….is $600 too much to pay an experienced mechanic replace the clutch?

A: hi, i just had to do a clutch in my car. I have a few questions, are u just buying the clutch disc or the clutch kit. the kit comes with everything clutch disc,pressure plate, throwout bearing, alignment tool. if its the clutch disc then it will be cheap like $50, $60 bucks, the kit is a little more expensive like $150-$200 bucks maybe $125 if ur lucky. now thats on a stock clutch kit. but proformace clutch kit which is what i bought is like $250-$500 i paid $350. But, now lets get to the point $150 sounds like hes buying the stock clutch kit and putting it in with no extra cost meaning free labor. Now the other guy for $600 sounds like hes buying the stock clutch kit and $300 for labor. Now replacing the clutch is not very hard but it take alot time to do. Because you have to take the transmission out and pull the clutch out and replace it with ur new one. But if ur low on cash and the guy can do it for $150 that will be ur best bet, but on the other hand he might not install it correctly and u might run into problem later down the road so ask if he had on clutches before. hopefully this help sorry about the long story. good luck with your car.

A: Well it really depends upon the year. I’ve owned 3 hondas an 83 accord junked at 110,000 a 87 accord junked at 170,000 and a 94 accord still running sweet with 112,000 on it. It very much depends how you maintain it but almost any cars built after 93 ive noticed can go 200,000 without any major replacements so really depends on the year. Some key notes you want to check when you test drive it is it the tranny shifts hard if automatic and if the brakes squeak a lot those are some more spending fixes on a used car brakes all around on a accord are about $800 and an auto tranny could run you about $1500.

A: Yeah these people are looking at dealer pricing and the labor to install it. You need them to get another quote. The bumper itself shouldn’t cost $800 unless it’s brand spankin new model. And if you were backing out of a parking spot I’m pretty sure the law will say that it was their fault for not yielding. I’d get a lawyer or take it to small claims court.

A: The Honda Accord Euro (a.k.a. Acura TSX in the States) is built in Japan, so the wheels should be the exact same size as your JDM Japanese import in Australia. Anyway, the tyre size is 215/50/17 and the bolt pattern is 5 x 114.3.
