Q: How do you remove the license plate on a 2005 Hyundai Sonata?
I just bought a 2005 Hyundai Sonata from my In-Laws, and we transferred the plates over, but I can’t get their old plate off? There is this funny white thing on the left hand side, that just keeps spinning. How do I get it off and put mine on. I don’t want to get pulled over for it.
A: Open the trunk or behind the bumper…. hold the back of it and then twist.
Q: How much would you pay for the New 2011 Hyundai Sonata SE?
Im interested in purchasing this new 2011 Hyundai Sonata SE (No Nev)
The MSRP on that is about 23000.
And how much would you offer for this brand new model if you were the one whos going to buy it?
A: @ Landon
What’s a Hyundai “brans”? LOL!
You’re right about Hyundai’s lasting past the warranty. I’ve seen plenty of Hyundai’s over 10 years old.
To answer the question, you’re not going to get a big discount off the Sonata because it’s a hot seller right now. Don’t expect much more than a $1000 off the price. But you never know. Ask for $20000 and see what happens.
Q: Where is the door remote sensor on a 2003 Hyundai Sonata?
A friend of mine just bought a Hyundai Sonata and it did not come with a key less entry remote. He bought one and now he needs to program it. I need to know where the remote sensor is located on the car.
Thanks
I know it is somewhere under the dash… close by the center. I just can’t find it.
A: The plug for the hi-scan, usually white plastic, is located almost directly below the steering wheel, under the dash. I can email you a picture of what they generally look like.
You should be able to see it, lying on your back with your head near the brake pedal, looking up behind the trim. It is next to the ALDL (assembly line diagnostic link) a larger, black plastic, block terminal. It is very close to the edge of the trim piece, where the driver’s knee would be.
If you can’t find it, the vehicle is not equipped with keyless entry. Calling a dealership with your VIN can verify this.
If he ever buys a second remote, they will have to be programmed together.
Q: what can i do to get more power out of a 2010 hyundai sonata dohc 16v?
I have a 2010 Hyundai Sonata, and im looking to get more pep out of this thing…
I know its a 4 cylinder with a DOHC 16V Engine.

Well, i would rather not.. But what do you have in mind?
A: did you want to void the warranty, or no?
Q: How much to replace a crankshaft sensor in a 2000 Hyundai Sonata?
How much does it cost to replace a crankshaft sensor in a 2000 hyundai sonata. Should I have my belts replaced when I get this done? If so, how much should I expect to pay? I recently hit my 100,000 mile mark, but I bought it used, so I don’t know what was done on it before I got it.
A: In backwards order-
look to pay approx. $1500-$2K for a RELIABLE shop to CHECK your :
belts, hoses, brakes, etc.AND–
To replace your :crank sensor, timing belt(reccomended), fuel filter, plugs/wires/cap, fluids(reccomended).
These prices are for the 4-cyl.– Add $500-$600 for the V-6
Q: Hyundai Sonata hybrid coming out any time soon?
Is there any speculation or confirmation on a Hyundai Sonata (or any Hyundai for that matter) Hybrid being made?
A: I don’t see any news about Hyundai going the Hybrid route or the diesel route either in the next 2 years with any vehicles. Alot of companies will be rolling out diesel cars/trucks in the next 2 years (Honda, Toyota, Nissan, BMW, Mercedes, Volvo) for US sale instead of more hybrids. New diesel engines are more efficient and last longer then hybrid’s for about the same price. The current 4 & 6 cylinder Sonata engines are fairly fuel efficient and hybrid sales still remain a fraction of all vehicle sales, demand just isn’t as high as the media makes it out to be. The Hyundai Hellion concept does have a diesel engine, so its likely Hyundai will have a few diesel cars available by 2010/2011 model year at the latest.
Q: how do you remove & replace the power steering hose on a 2001 hyundai sonata?
I need to replace the power steering hose on a 2001 Hyundai Sonata and I don’t have a manual to research.
A: well seems if you know where the hose is to know its bad that alone would tell you what you need a wrench to fit the end of hose and turn the nut on end of line til it comes loose then follow hose to other end and remove that and replace same way really no much more can be said about it after you replace it crank car turn wheel all the way one way fill pump turn back the other way few times should pump all the air out… you can find how to replace power steering hose by just typing that you can find how to replace most any car part if you know the name of part even find a video of how one is done sometimes you shouldnt have any problems really its easy as what ive said and you can use autozone wedsite and find many repair info on most cars also
Q: difficulty starting hyundai sonata when tank more than half full?
My 2003 Hyundai Sonata has difficulty starting when the gas tank is more than half full. It starts fine when the tank is below the half-full level. Any ideas what might be causing this?
A: the actual level of gasoline in the gas tank should not have any effect on starting the car. perhaps there is another reason.
Q: Is an ac bracket Vital for a 2001 Hyundai sonata?
I have a 2001 Hyundai sonata and the ac bracket is missing, is it still drivable or do i need to get it fixed first?
A: if you don’t have it on their it may cause the a/c pump to vibrate loose and damage it ,its a needed part,if you remove the belt from it you can more than likely drive it it has a separate belt for the a/c unit, good luck.
Q: What are the torque specs for a 2002 Hyundai Sonata 2.4 crank pully?
I am trying to find the crank position sensor on my 2002 Hyundai Sonata 2.4 and I also need to know the torque requirements for the crank pulley and harmonic balancer.
A: The crank sensor is behind the timing cover, held in place by 2 10mm bolts. You need to remove the t-belt to access it. The torque for the crank bolt is about 120 ft-lbs.
Q: gas tank recall on my 1997 Hyundai Sonata?
I have a 1997 Hyundai Sonata that has a recall on gas tank. How long does the recall stay in affect?
A: Recalls stay in effect until they are completed. Your recall is #044 and it would only take a half hour to complete.
Q: How do you set up the XM radio that comes with the 2007 Hyundai Sonata?
I just purchased the 2007 Hyundai Sonata and was told it came with a 3 month trial subscription of XM radio. I thought the dealership was going to set it up, but they didn’t. I tried to get the radio ID so I could set it up on xmradio.com, but when I try to turn on the XM radio, it always says “XM loading.” So I can’t tune to 0 to get the ID. I know I have reception because my neighbor recently purchased the same car with XM radio, but the dealer set his up for him. Can someone help me so I can get this setup today (sunday) so I don’t have to wait until the dealership reopens tomorrow?
A: You’ll either have to take it to the dealership, or call XM. They have to activate it to allow your radio to receive the signal.
Q: I need parts for a hyundai sonata 06 and cant find some!?
I need a steering wheel for my hyundai sonata 06 and was looking for one everywhere online but cant find it at all. Do they call it something different than a “steering wheel” lol?
A: I looked at this site for you http://car-part.com/index.htm. It list hundreds of different salvage yards in the US and Canada and most will ship parts. Some yards did have it so it may be helpful. The dealer is the only other place I can think of.
Good Luck.
Q: Where can I go to have automatic folding side mirrors installed on a 2007 Hyundai Sonata in NJ?
Folding mirrors are not standard or optional on 2007 Hyundai Sonatas. Therefore, this would have to be a custom job.
A: He’s talking about electronically folding mirrors, that is not standard except on maybe the Genesis. Yes, most cars have mirrors you can manually fold, on my Azera it was an option. I don’t know where in NJ you can get it done, call some performance or repair shops.
